Tayler Kay Birth Story

This is probably the shortest birth story ever, but it's definetley  one of my favorites.

5 am- wake up and get everything ready.

5:30 am- arrive at hospital, take a quick before baby selfie with Daniel and head in.

From there we got registered, assigned a room, signed a whole bunch of papers, changed into a robe, given an iv, and did a whole lot of chatting :) i was a little nervous, but not bad :) Lots of questions, tests, and more joking and chatting.

6:30 Anesthesiologist comes in and we have a quick chat, daniel changes into scrubs and they wheel me off to the operating room. we get there, more chatting, joking, and i climb onto the table and sit on the edge, breath deeply as they place the spinal. It doesn't work. I keep twitching while they repeatedly attempt to place it. It was working on one side but not the other, so my brilliant doctor who has been helping me hold still and talking to me through this moves my leg a certain way and boom. Spinal in. Instant numbness from the chest down. so they lay me back and i guess it pushed all the air up to my chest so i had really bad gas pain in my collar bones if you can imagine that lol. So weird. It felt like i couldn't breath so my awesome  Anesthesiologist named Amy btw, there were like 5 Amy's in the room so eventually i stopped responding unless there was a pause or someone poked me and said wer'e talking to you. she told me i was fine and she had an eye on everything :)The doctor said Amy i'm pinching you as hard as i can. Can you feel it? I said no, and he said, Ok! lets have a birthday party. well about 5 min later The doctor says alright! Happy Birthday Tayler! and a nurse brought her over to me and showed me :) I was a bit emotional when they brought her over. i got to see/ sort of hold her for a minute then they took her with Daniel to get her all squared away. They finished me up, then took me to a dark room to relax and recover a bit. I slept while the nurses around me were talking. then they took me to my room where i got to hold Tayler some more. Me and Daniel were drooling over when my dad brought Katie in. She really liked her :) until she got bored and wanted to play lol. We had the most wonderful experience. Everything went so well. And the entire team of doctors and nurses were incredible. They really are amazing. Dr Ferguson is the very best. i recommend him to everyone! He has delivered both my children. We can't thank everyone from Brigham City Labor and Delivery enough. Also shout out to all the nurses who took care of us during recovery. Especially my Sister in law Alivia. It was so comforting having her there.
